Meet the Maker - @bibs_usa
Hello my fellow small shop lovers. I would like you all to meet Mushie, the mama and manager of @bibs_usa, the US Bibs Pacifiers distributor. I had the chance to ask her a couple of questions so below you will find her answers! I hope you enjoy!
1. Tell us a little about you, your personal life, and what role you play in Bibs!
”I’m Mushie, mom of 2 boys (4 years and 4 months) and wife to Levi, an amazon genius-cool-funny-hard working-motivated stud who’s also managing the amazon for bibs. I do the Instagram for @bibs_usa and I’m the most sleep deprived I’ve ever been, but also the happiest I’ve ever been.”
2. What is your favorite part of working with Bibs Pacifiers?
”Working on instagram for Bibs I talk to people a LOT, which I really enjoy. I love that my job is with the happy and pretty things of life; our Pacifiers are so esthetically pleasing, but still so good for the babies. I hear from a multitude of moms that they spend lots of money on all types of pacifiers and finally their baby takes bibs. It makes me so happy! I also love that I can be with my baby while I’m working. It’s really hard at times, because it’s a full time job x2, but I’m so grateful because if I went back to my old job as a teacher I would see my baby much less.
This whole experience with Bibs taught me that I need to be more flexible with life in general, but also with my dreams and plans. Life happens- and I never thought I’d be doing what I do now, but like I said, I love it!”
3. How did Bibs USA start?
“I was pregnant and had hyperemesis gravidarium, it means extreme sickness when pregnant. I was always dehydrated, couldn’t tolerate water and most foods, couldn’t tolerate most smells, touch, light, screens, noises. Everything made me sick. I would faint and was barely able to take care of myself, let alone take care of my son and husband. I was very dependent on other people’s help. Not surprisingly at all my doctor advised I should be done working.
After a few months of doing absolutely nothing but laying in bed in the dark and silence I was extremely sad and bored. When I was able to go on my phone again without getting too sick, I would buy some baby products here and there to remember all of the craziness was for a good thing, and we would be having a baby at the end of it all. It was so hard to remember that, I just felt like I was sick and my life was over.
One day I saw the bibs pacifiers on the instagram of some European boutique and decided to order them. They didn’t arrive for a while and I thought I probably would never see them. Then a couple weeks later they arrived in the mail and they were so cute!
My husband saw them and said maybe we should sell them? He explained that we would need them to be more available in the USA if our baby was going to take them. So that’s where it began and here we are now!”
